Lebanon: Support the Resistance – Defeat the Zionist Invasion!

On the side of Iran and the Palestinian people but no political support ????

1.            The Zionist monster is escalating its war of terror against the Lebanese people. About 3,500 people have already been killed since early March and more than a quarter of the whole population has been expelled from their homes. Now Netanyahu threatens to restart the devastating bombardment of the southern suburbs of Beirut. At the same time, Israel’s army is expanding its operation and moves towards Nabatieh – a stronghold of the Lebanese Resistance in the south of the country.

2.            The latest escalation of the Israel’s aggression is caused by a combination of factors. The hardline Zionist regime is pursuing is long-term vision of a “Greater Israel” which includes – in addition to the Palestinian territories occupied in the wars since 1948 – the annexation of parts of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and other Arab countries.

3.            Furthermore, the Netanyahu government fears that the current negotiations between Trump and Iran will result in a ceasefire deal representing a strategic defeat for the American-Zionist monster. This would be particularly devastating for Netanyahu who faces a trial for corruption as well as elections in autumn which he is likely to lose. Given such a bleak outlook, the government tries to sabotage the ceasefire negotiations, to push the Americans towards resuming the war against Iran (from which Trump wants to escape) and to convince the domestic public that Israel is still advancing “against the terrorists”.

4.            However, Hezbollah has successfully resisted the Zionist invasion until now, despite the severe setbacks it suffered in 2024. Its military units have dealt a series of blows against the aggressor. Furthermore, Iran rightfully insists in the negotiations with the U.S. that a ceasefire must include not only Iran but also the Lebanese front. Today, Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency published a statement saying: “Given the continuation of the crimes of the Zionist entity in Lebanon and considering that Lebanon was part of the preconditions for the ceasefire, and that this ceasefire has been violated on all fronts, the Iranian negotiating team will suspend talks and the exchange of texts through intermediaries. Iran emphasizes the following: the necessity of an immediate cessation of attacks by the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon; the necessity of a complete Israeli withdrawal from the occupied areas in Lebanon; until Iran's view in this regard is met, there will be no further talks; the Resistance Axis and Iran, together, have jointly determined to completely block the Strait of Hormuz and activate other fronts including the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait, in order to punish the Zionists and their allies.”

5.            The Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT) calls for the unconditional defence of Lebanon, Iran and Palestine against the American-Zionist aggression. We call for the defeat of the imperialist forces and their expulsion from the Middle East. At the same time, we lend no political support to the leadership of the resistance.

6.            The RCIT advocates the perspective of the revolutionary destruction of the Israeli Apartheid state and the creation of a free and red Palestine from the River to the Sea. We call for the creation of workers and fellahin republics in Palestine, Lebanon, Iran and all other countries of the Middle East as part of a socialist federation.
